Supersprint Exhaust System Install for e46 330i

When installing a new exhaust system, we highly recommend using all new gaskets, hangers, fasteners and clamps. Additionally when removing the stock system and installing the Supersprint system you will most likely need the assistance of a friend to support the exhaust system while you remove the last bolts and install the first bolts on the new system.

Before we start, below is a couple photos of the stock e46 330i exhaust system.

These photos show the connection points that will need to be removed to remove the stock system. Further along we will go into detail with each connection point.

First remove the nuts that attach the connecting pipes to headers. It may help to spray the bolts first with WD40 to help break loose any rust that has formed.

Remove the vacuum hose going to the factory exhaust actuator.

Remove 4 nuts connecting the factory left and right muffler hangers from the chassis

Have a prop or a friend support the rear of the muffler once disconnected from the chassis.

Remove 8 bolts from the factory connecting pipe support braces. Once these bolts are removed your exhaust will be completely disconnected from the chassis.

Remove factory exhaust system and set aside.

Preassemble the Supersprint system along side the factory exhaust system. Do not completely tighten any of the bolts.

Preassemble new hanger bracket assembly on Supersprint rear muffler.

Remove the factory front exhaust hanger from the factory system and install on Supersprint muffler making note of the orientation of the hanger on the factory system.

Remove the factory rear exhaust hanger from the factory system and install on Supersprint muffler making note of the orientation of the hanger on the factory system.

Remove the two nuts attaching the connecting pipe support braces from the factory exhaust system and install on the Supersprint System

The Supersprint system is now ready to be installed onto the car.

It is highly recommended that you install new gaskets between the connecting pipes and headers. Reusing old gaskets may prevent the exhaust system from completely sealing.

While you have a prop or a friend support the rear muffler reconnect the 8 bolts on the connecting pipe support braces to the chassis.

Reconnect the nuts attaching the Supersprint connecting pipes to the factory headers. Use a small amount of an anti-seize compound on each bolt before reconnecting the nuts.

Reconnect the 4 nuts attaching the exhaust hangers to the chassis.

The bolts connecting the Supersprint connecting pipes to the Supersprint muffler should still be slightly loose. This will enable you to rotate system for proper fitment or desired tip location. The Supersprint exhaust tips should be at least 1/4Ó below the factory rear spoiler to prevent any tip contact caused by exhaust movement.

Once you have the Supersprint system properly aligned you can tighten the bolts connecting the Supersprint connecting pipes to the Supersprint Muffler.

Vacuum hose needs to be securely plugged with a small bolt and washer and tie wrapped aside.

Recheck all nuts and bolts to ensure that everything is secure.

Enjoy the added performance and sound from your new Supersprint Exhaust system.
