AFE uses only ECO safe cleaning solutions that are biodegradable and environmentally safe cleaner while still providing excellent cleaning properties. The chemicals are not only safe for the environment but also for you to use as there is no harsh fumes many other cleaners contain to achieve desirable cleaning properties. This is especially important if you have small children that love to help you out in the garage while you work on your car.

To avoid damage to your vehicles mass air flow sensor, AFE has formulated their own proprietary filtration oil which contains very low amounts of surfactants. The low surfactant formula eliminates the chance of damaging the delicate mass air flow sensor element, if excess filter oil were to come in contact with the element. This contamination may occur when you apply excessive amounts of oil to your filter during the re-oiling process. This excess oil will be drawn the vehicles intake system the instant you start your vehicle. The properties of most other brands of filtration oil that have high surfactants is that the oil becomes very tacky and sticky. As the oil build up continually coats the mass air flow element, high surfactant oil will caramelize with normal engine heat which in turn will bake onto the mass air sensors internal components. Once this occurs cleaning the sensor element is impossible.
