BMW models newer than 1987 are equipped with an on board self diagnostic computer that hold in storage a variety of engine and electronic component failure codes. Yes your car can now tell you when and where it hurts. Until recently retrieving this information was possible only at your authorized BMW dealer. The equipment was cost prohibitive, and the codes were a closely held secret by your dealers service department. We now offer a small hand held fault code reader that will retrieve almost any code. The codes are displayed on a 2 digit electronic display. And as an added bonus the same tool will reset the oil service and inspection service interval lights. The kit includes the electronic reset/code reader, a 20-page instruction and code book, and a durable plastic storage case. The tool will diagnose problems such as a simple spark plug failure, to a more complicated vanos intake cam solenoid failure.
